It still hasn’t outlived its “Nokiaberry” moniker, but the E61 is providing that it’s more than deserving of it. (We like to think the nickname is meant as praise.) The Symbian Series 60 OS isn’t exactly as versetile as Windows Mobile 5.0, but it does manage to do everything from sending and receiving emails, running multimedia apps, and, oh yeah, making phone calls.
Given its abnormally wide body, the full QWERTY keypad is conventionaly spaced, making it usable even for users with chubby fingers. Couple that with a 2.8-inch QVGA screen that the bespectacle will apreciate, and the phone just screams “uber nerd”.
This is the functional email phone, but other than its un-Nokia-ish exterior, it’s missing a wow factor to win us over.
